Harvest on Vine

How Can I Help?

One of the goals of Harvest on Vine emergency food pantry is to bring the Charlestown community closer together, and one way to do this is by encouraging people to volunteer at the pantry. Volunteers are always needed on the days of distribution. Please let us know of your willingness to volunteer through the feedback REQUEST page or you may call us at (617) 337-3545 or email tmacdonald@stmarystcatherine.org

Johnny’s FoodMaster

We wish to express our deepest heartfelt thanks to Johnny’s FoodMaster supermarket on Austin Street which closed it’s Charlestown store some time ago. A wonderful program had been organized and operated by the store, the brainchild of their Manager, Kevin Perno –  working with our Tom MacDonald, offered shoppers the opportunity to purchase a prepackaged grocery bag with appropriate needed items already picked out.  This program was designed to make it easy for charitable shoppers to provide much needed family items and eliminated the many questions such as  “What should I buy?” , “How do I deliver it?” and most challenging these days “Where do I find more time to spend in the grocery store?”. The program was hugely successful  and many thanks go to Johnny’s FoodMaster and all of you who participated for making it so successful.

Please return to this page often to read about other local merchants and their generous and timely acts to help our less advantaged Charlestown citizens.
