Summer reading with the Book Group

The Parish Book Group will take a summer break and resume its monthly discussion meeting schedule on  Oct. 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center. Their summer selection is Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom by John O’Donohue. Publisher Progressive Christianity describes Anam Cara as a source of “profound insights on the universal themes of friendship, solitude, love, and death … the Irish term anam cara (lit. “soul-friend”) originates in Irish monasticism, where it was applied to a monk’s spiritual advisor.” The Book Group invites all parishioners and visitors to enjoy this alternate “beach read” this summer and come back in October to share your reflections at their next gathering!

Assist the Finance Office as a Counter

Counters fulfill an important function of Parish finance by  organizing and counting the offertory and special collections gathered at Mass. Each counters is scheduled in pairs and meet from 9:00-10:00 a.m., usually once a month. If you are interested, please call James or Jeff at (617) 242-4664!
