Want to be part of the Music Ministry? Join our choir groups!

Music is a very important and integral part of the solemn liturgy. Become a part of it this fall! We invite you to join one of our three ensembles now looking for volunteer singers and instrumentalists! These ensembles will be open September through May and anyone is free to join at any time.

Family Mass Choir (10AM Mass on Sunday):

The Family Mass choir will sing at the 10AM Mass and will sing the best of contemporary and traditional repertoire with organ. This choir is in special need of Altos but is open to any voice type. Ability to read music is preferred but not required. We will also take instrumentalists!

Spanish Mass Ensemble (12:30PM Mass on Sunday):

The Spanish Mass Ensemble sings at the Spanish Mass and sings music to reflect the Latin American feel and love for the liturgy. Knowing Spanish is NOT required and is open to all. The Spanish Mass rehearses every other Friday in the chapel at 6PM. We are currently looking for a bassist and Latin American percussionists. Singers and other instrumentalists are also welcome.

Contemporary Ensemble (6PM Mass on Sunday):

The Contemporary Ensemble is a great ensemble for those who are wanting to join a choir for the first time. The Contemporary Ensemble will sing mostly contemporary hymns while singing some traditional hymns in a more upbeat manner. We are also in need of two guitarists, a bassist and a percussionist to make an ensemble, but all types of instruments and all types of singers from beginning to experienced are welcome!

To join a choir/ensemble, or for more information, contact music director Daniel Sauceda at or (626) 277-5157 (text or call).

An invitation to ponder

The celebration of the Sunday Eucharist is the center point of the life of any Catholic community.

Our own Parish Mission Statement highlights the Eucharist as that which nourishes everything in our Parish. Always we are striving to celebrate Sunday Mass as best as possible and to do that, we need lots of help. In addition to maintaining our beautiful worship space, we need people to assist in the various ministries at Mass: greeters, lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, and altar servers. I invite you to ponder whether you can assist us in one of these ministries.

Sometimes when I speak with a parishioner about being a minister – a natural reaction is:   “ME – I could never do that!”

We are inclined to think that serving in ministry is more for someone else and we are not worthy to do that. Well, no one IS worthy! However many are able to lend a hand and with preparation and support, carry out a much needed and important ministry at the Parish.

Please read below and pray, wonder and talk with us – if you feel so called.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are adult Catholics in good standing who have a love for the Eucharist and wish to serve their fellow parishioners. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are ordinary Christians who model Christian living in faith and conduct in their ministry and in their daily lives. A formal training program for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion is provided.

Ministers of the Word (Lectors)

Lectors are adult Catholics in good standing who have a love for the Word of God and wish to serve their fellow parishioners as a Minister of the Word.  The Liturgy of the Word is an essential component of the Eucharistic Liturgy. The Ministry of Lector is to proclaim the Word of God in the assembly of the people. We offer a formal training program for Lectors and provide them with books that contain all the readings for the church year and may be studied at home.

Greeters and Ushers

Greeters and ushers are a group of dedicated men and women of all ages.  Greeters faithfully welcome our parishioners and visitors as they arrive for Mass.  Ushers are responsible for taking up the collection during the liturgy.

For more information, please contact Sister Nancy at 617-242-4664 or

Volunteer opportunities at VNA Hospice Care

VNA Hospice Care is a non-profit organization serving patients and families in our community, including those with life-threatening illness. VNA Volunteers provide patients with company and emotional support, give breaks to the spouse or other caregiver, help caregivers run errands and perform other helpful tasks.

The VNA has a strong need for volunteers who can visit patients on weekdays. They are also looking for volunteers who speak a second language.

Training and support is provided for volunteers.  Their next training will take place on Tuesday evenings from Mar. 1 through Apr. 5 at their Woburn office. Call (866) 279-7103  or email for an application and interview. You can also visit them online at

We’re in need of counter volunteers!

Every Monday morning, a team of volunteers visits the Parish Center to help count the weekend collection. These parishioners are scheduled in pairs once or twice a month to carry out this important responsibility. They are an integral part of our accounting procedure. If you can spare an hour or so to count on a Monday morning, we would love to talk to you! Please call Jeff or James at 617-242-4664.
